Hi Guys,

My spouse helped me apply for Green Card in Oct 2017. We got a RFE letter for I-485 from USCIS, requesting for the initial evidence of Affidavit of Support. My spouse had SSDI(Disability), which, as I investigated, should be considered as income. But because my spouse only filed 1040EZ (tax return), which does not  include the social security benefit, we don't know how to reflect the part of SSDI income in i-864 form. And, we don't know which evidence as requested by the RFE letter should be provided. Can we mail the SSA-1099 forms and the proof of income letter from SSA? Do we also need to write a  cover letter? We made several phone calls to USCIS asking about the reason for the RFE. They just told us to provide what is requested in the RFE letter or read the instruction of i-864.

BTW, I googled and found the difference between SSDI and SSI is that the former has SSA-1099 form. Is it correct?

Thanks
