Hello! I have two quick questions about my immigration application status that I'm hoping to get some help with:

1. My mother, a US citizen, filed for me and my I-130 was approved in October 2014. I'm in the F1 category. If I were to go through a legal name change (first name, not last name) in my country of citizenship (Canada) right now, will it complicate/delay my application process? If so, is there a way to prevent any complications?

2. Is the estimated process time from the date of filing or date of approval? According to the bulletin, they're currently processing visas filed in July 2011. So I suppose this means my application has approximately another 3 years + 3 months to go before it changes to Current, right?

Thank you in advance. Any answer is appreciated!
