Did you make hotel reservations?  There's a you tube video of a girl that didn't have reservations and struggled to find where to stay.

Yes iam reserving because it is gonna be harder to reserve and I don’t want to be struggling to find where to stay. It will be more expensive as well if you wait until that day.

No i am from Coahuila. But I came into the states when I was 3. I just want to make sure I have it. I’ve read some people have been asked for it even if they are in the same situation as me.

Ahhh, that is probably why the NVC did not ask for it.  That makes sense.

Yeah, at the US Consulate, they have little patience for people without documentation and my wife said everyone was asked for their documents prior to the actual interview.  The police certificate included.  Better safe than sorry.

Let me know if you have any other questions, even about Juarez.  We are glad to help.

NVC usually takes about 11wks to respond after everything is sent. I had mine completed last year but then I canceled my first appointment to do the i601A . I know it was completeled in May and and I recieved notice in July. For both this time and last. You can check your NVC case status on their website.

I also wanted to ask you or if anyone can answer, if you're flying there? Did you purchase round trip flight tickets?  For how many days?

Thanks!

I am doing a one way. As to I don’t know if I will be able to leave that same day or if something goes wrong just to be on the safe side. So I wouldn’t lose the money i did a one way.

If you are flying into El Paso or Juarez, I'd recommend that you book a one way ticket.  Even if your visa is approved at the consulate, it may take 3-10 days for your visa to be ready for pickup.  You cannot have that kind of variability when booking an outgoing flight.  My wife's interview was on a Monday and she was approved.  We received the email confirming her visa was ready for pickup on that Thursday at 3:30 pm.  Wife picked up her visa the following day.

I selected for mine to be mailed to my home town. So I think it will be fine for a roundtrip. I didn’t select for the juarez DHL

If you plan on staying in Mexico for awhile and visiting family, then roundtrip should be fine.  In most cases, people want to get back to the US as soon as possible and anxiously wait in Juarez until their visa becomes available.

Oh trust me i do want to get back to US as quickly as I can but Im already going to be in Juarez for  a week and it’s already killing my pockets. I’d rather wait the rest of those few days where I won’t have to pay for another hotel room.
