My fiancé has her K-1 visa coming up soon. I owe about 5k in taxes and at the moment I can not pay that up front. We just had a baby recently and I plan on paying my taxes soon but on a payment plan. If we leave for the meeting with out me paying the total 5k or start the payment plan. Will the reject her visa because of my owed taxes ?

I owed taxes when I petitioned for my fiancé (now husband) to come here and it never came up.

I submitted my tax returns and it showed that I owed taxes.

Umm... I don't remember them asking anything about the US petitioner's taxes other than just submitting the tax transcripts with the I-134. However, the only time anyone's owed taxes seem to really matter in the immigration process is when the former foreign beneficiary/current GC holder who is about to apply for naturalization. On the N-400, they ask about taxes owed but this is the former foreign beneficiary/current GC holder's owed taxes and the person needs to show proof that a payment plan has been agreed upon with IRS.

For my I-129F, K-1, AOS, EAD, AP and ROC detailed timelines, please refer to my timeline page :)

ROC filed on December 1, 2020, assigned to SRC, approved within 106 days on February 18, 2021.

My sincerest gratitude to all VJers, especially the late geowrian.
