I did the same city change of address. But today got a letter saying my case was transferred from VSC to CSC.

Can anyone please let me know why this happened since it is just a same city change of address? Also, will it impact my processing timeline? Will it reset the processing time or it will follow the original one (04/17).

Thanks!!

It could've been a workload transfer. Your priority date will stay the same!

I guess so.. But on the letter it mentioned jurisdiction area.. It's kind of wired to me since NC goes to VSC.

BTW, based on the processing speed, will CSC be faster?

CSC used to be faster than VSC, but seems that it is the opposite this year. VSC is averaging 11-12 months to be approved, while CSC is taking around 13+ months for approval

My friend had her case transferred and she filed later than I did. In a couple days of her being notified of the transfer from VSC to CSC her case was approved. She was a late July filer and got approved in middle June. Hope this gives you some hope even though VSC is moving a little faster now.
