Another incident in Paris, police vehicles targeted on Champs-Élysées

A suspect deliberately crashed a car into a police van on the Champs-Elysees shopping district in Paris Monday afternoon, an incident that has prompted an anti-terrorism investigation, French authorities said. 

 

Police launched a security operation, Fox News confirmed. The suspect's car exploded -- and the police van caught fire, but it was quickly contained, officials said. The bomb squad was called to the scene.

Macron's approach to this will be interesting to say the least.

 

Edit: Sources keep changing from car bombing to ramming+explosion, so not sure what it is.

Based on reports I've read in French, the suspect attempted to ram officers and detonate the vehicle. It was not successful or did not go off as intended. The police killed the attacker, and recovered explosives and weapons at the scene.
