Hi everyone

Right away - if this is the wrong category or place to ask - I truly apologize but I am a bit lost in regards of finding the right answers

We initially got married in Denmark two years ago. (I am German, my spouse is US Citizen).

Due to life circumstances and little time we were not able to legally change my name in Germany.

All my documents are currently issued in my maiden name.

I would like to start changing my name now and thought I could do that with my ROC.

Is it possible to just re-submit my marriage certificate with my ROC and request USCIS to please use the my husband's last name now instead of my maiden name?

(my first GC is issued in maiden name, even after marriage)

Or do I have to legally change my name in Germany first to be able to have the name changed on my green card?

Thanks for all the help in advance.
