6000 immigrant cases? From P.P.? I thought that is what this transfer was about. They were already doing non-immigrants correct?

Actually my fiance got a phone call.

Phone call to pick up the letter. I have no clue why they never send anything to the beneficially. It's always like this from what I've heard. The 6,000 cases are going to take some time.

Yepper I know Lace, when I refer to "you guys", I mean you and girls. What I was meaning while you both got phone calls, the were for different things but same end result, I kind find that as "will just wing it today" ;) Dustin and your noa2's are pretty close together.

Lookie on the bottom of my NVC letter here: " Your fiance' will soon receive a packet with instructions from the consular section on how to apply for K1 visa at the post and what docs will be requied".

Sincerely,

Bureau of Consular Affairs

Letter dated 4-26-07

Hmm, I wonder if the BCA really knows thier posts that well. as in: "will soon receive a packet" .......called a lawyer over there and he said Thea will receive a letter with imformation on her interview.... Dont think they will do anything till that get the stuff from emailed pack 3. Yet I am still wating for some kind of communication from them before we send it. Think I will send them another email right now..

Well here it is, seen this before.....

** Please do not respond to this message **

The Visa Unit of the U.S. Embassy in Phnom Penh has received your e-mail inquiry. We regret that we are unable to send a personal reply to each inquiry due to the large volume we receive daily. Many of the inquiries we receive are readily answered by information available on various U.S. Government websites and this response is designed to allow you to access that information quickly.

If, following a review of all information provided, you still have an inquiry regarding a specific issue with a visa case pending at the U.S. Embassy in Phnom Penh, please send an additional email to visasphp@state.gov with the following information:

* For Immigrant Visa (including Fiancée) Cases: The subject line must contain "2nd IV Inquiry", and the case number (with prefix of PHP), and the applicant's surname. The first paragraph must include the full names of the petitioner and the applicant, the type of visa and your contact information. Please note that we are not able to provide routine status updates on the more than 6,000 cases that we handle annually, nor are we able to respond to routine questions regarding whether or not we have received your case from the NVC.

If you need to cancel a scheduled appointment, please notify us in writing via e-mail or fax us at 855-23-728-700. Be sure to include your case number, principal applicant name and a local phone number or e-mail contact. The subject line must contain "IV Appointment cancellation".

* For Non-Immigrant Visa Cases: The subject line must contain "2nd NIV Inquiry." If you are writing about a visa refusal, please note that applicants who have been refused visas may reapply at any time.

All Non-Immigrant visa, K-1 and K-3 applicants must complete the DS-156 electronic visa application form (EVAF), which can be filled out online and printed by visiting the website http://evisaforms.state.gov <http://evisaforms.state.gov/> . Please remember to print all three pages of the form, including the third page with bar code.

Hey did you copy the whole passport or just the page with the photo Id part?

Thanks

Jeff

Ok, I see that #6 in the email pack 3 talks about the new IV requirements...I dont know how new but here it is:

1. Photocopy of passport photo page for each applicant

2. Two photographs for each applicant (see attached sheet for details)

This is part of the stuff you send back with the ds-230 and I-93. B)

This may be a dumb question but I gotta ask. Is the photocopy of the passport photo page and the 2 photographs only for my fiance to do? I do not need to include my photos or photocopy also....right? I've received my NVC letter 3 weeks ago and expecting Packet 3 any day. I already have Packet 3 thanks to a fellow member so should I have my fiance go ahead and send in the forms, her photos, and her passport photocopy now?

Yes NT, it is only for yr fiancee', she (i assume) is the one applying for the visa, not you.

I recieved my nvc letter 4-26, emailed them 2 times, and other then a general mail out, still have never heard a thing from P.P.

I have Pack 3 also thanks to the same thing.

Sending it without official contact ....I dunno either. Dont even know if the embaasy has it, lost it or whatever. I was gonna send it in last week then we decided on something different, as we have a k2 involed and are redoing some forms...prolly send it in next week and cross are fingers... my 4 month window runs out Aug 8.

By all means send it. Don't wait for the Embassy. They send the package to the USC, not the partitioner, don't ask me why. See my timeline I removed due to it being too long.

03/29/2007 Embassy Sent Packet 3

06/16/2007 Packet 3 Finally Arrived

Yes, these numbers are correct!

The Packet 3 is useless now as my fiance has already picked up her appointment letter. They used to be very good at replying back next business day. However, in the last 3 month or so it is taking over a month!!!! There really isn't a way to tell when your packet 3 arrives at the embassy. Whenever I call no one picks up (after waiting 45 minutes or more several times). Unless you send it from the US via a trackable carrier such as DHL. I also followed up with an email. That way it gets into their system and the ball's in their court. Once they process packet 3 they call your fiance to pick up the appointment letter. I would strongly recommend calling DOS shortly after that as they didn't give my fiance her interview date during the call.

It was set for July 2nd at 7AM when I called DOS.

When my fiance picked up her appointment letter it was set for July 2nd at 7AM.

If I didn't call DOS than we would of only been given a 2 weeks notice!

Don't mean to sound like I'm rambling but better to get the straight forward answer than the politically correct one.

Tip:

When your fiance go to pick up the appointment letter they interview close by. My fiance was able to listen in on the interview and heard all the questions asked. Have your fiance listen VERY closely as this will ease their nerve. I would even recommend staying a few extra minutes just to listen in.

Thanks for the tips! Do you know if the interviews are conducted in english or Khmer? My fiancee is worried about the interview being totally in english. She's not very confident about her english. I will tell her to listen to the interviews going on when she picks up her letter. I'll be heading back as soon as we know when the interview will be. I just got back a week ago and wish I coulda stayed longer!

The interview will be conducted in Khmer. The CO's are Caucasians but speaks Khmer perfectly. Tell your fiance not to worry about that. The CO's does look at all the evidence presented to them. Each interview was about 20 minutes but the question/answer only 5 minutes. Most of the time it's the CO looking at the evidence. They ask the questions listed here at VJ. Good luck.
