When is a prudent time to file for a Service Request?

Tomorrow marks the sixth month mark since we filed my ROC. I know we are still within the "window" of those six months and I should just sit, relax and wait. However, when would it be an appropriate time to file a service request? Should I wait until the 7th month? Or should I file a service request soon after the sixth month? Any suggestions are welcome.

PS. We filed through the California Service Center

You can file a service request when your case is outside normal processing time...which for CSC currently shows 6 months. So you can file now. If I were you, I'd wait another month. My I-751 took 7.5 months, a tad bit longer than many filers who filed around my time.
