Hi guys,

I just come up with this issue, but confused if this is normal :( (the name's order of Vietnamese peeps)

I received email from NVC with name order as below:

Case Number: HCM2016711xxx
Petitioner's Name: MUNDIM, ALEXANDRE CASTRO
Principal Applicant's Name: TRAN, DUY QUANG
Preference Category: K1
Your Priority Date: 18Apr2016
Foreign State Chargeability: VIETNAM
U.S. CONSULATE GENERAL
4 LE DUAN BLVD., DISTRICT 1
HO CHI MINH CITY
VIETNAM

Then, I submitted DS-160 and book my interview with name order given in NVC email : TRAN, DUY QUANG (this is the correct order which I want DUY will appear to be my first name in all future US documents)

But today, I requested PKT 3 instruction package and consulate replied.

....

Your case is filed under your name and case number as shown below. When communicating with this office either by email, letter, fax, or in person you must provide your name and case number exactly as shown in this letter. If there is an error in your name or date of birth, please submit your inquiry via inquiry form on our website at https://vn.usembassy...sa-inquiryform/

HCM2016711xxx

Name (P) : TRAN, QUANG DUY

Traveling Applicants: (P) TRAN, QUANG DUY

See, the name order in NVC email and consulate email are different, I already submitted DS-160 and booked interview, I dont really want to re-submit my DS-160 as its correct order which I want.

Is there any trouble when I come to interview? :(

OMG K1 is endless stressful journey :(

Anyone experienced?

This is not uncommon, it happened to my wife. It's not a big deal, click on this link to email the consulate, https://vn.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visas/immigrant-visa-inquiry-form/. You will need to pick change beneficiary name under subject. Include a copy of your birth certificate uploaded as an attachment. Explain to them the mistake in the order of your name. They will generally respond in 24 hours they will email you a new letter with corrected name just print it out and take it to your interview.

Yes I already asked, and since this Apr 2016. this is the new regulation applied for US Visa in Vietnam.

May be I just can change have them adjusted when applying for SSN.

Am I able to request an adjustment at POE?

Dear Mr. Tran,
Thank you for your inquiry.
Please be informed that Vietnamese names on U.S. visas are printed in the same order as found in the Vietnamese passport. If the Vietnamese passport shows the full name as: “Nguyen Van A”, the visa will show “Nguyen” as Surname and “Van A” as Given name. As this is the correct order for Vietnamese names according to the U.S. Department of State, no adjustments can be made.
Other federal agencies, such as the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and the Social Security Administration (SSA), are aware of this issue. You will be able to verify your information during the process of applying for your lawful permanent resident card (green card) and Social Security number with these agencies.
If you have further questions, please do not reply to this email. Instead, please submit your inquiry to: https://vn.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visas/immigrant-visa-inquiry-form/. Unfortunately, we are unable to respond to inquiries sent directly to this email address.

Well that would be different because they asked us for birth certificate and did the name change. Since that is so and if your passport is the same I wouldn't sweat it. Sounds like your good to go. When you get to the states and adjust and get your Soc Security card just make sure they get it in order.
