I was hoping to get a positive answer to have my wife get an interview date, but today I received a checklist from the NVC stating the following:

____5 - MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE:

The document we received is from the incorrect issuing authority. Please send a copy of the applicant's original marriage certificate, or a copy of the certified marriage document, bearing the appropriate seal or stamp of the issuing authority. If the certificate is a certified copy of the original, it must come from the issuing government authority and it must contain annotation by the issuing government authority indicating that it is an extract from the official records. Documents must be from the appropriate issuing government authority. Failure to provide the correct document will delay your case and may result in re-scheduling of your interview, or refusal of a visa.

I called up the NVC multiple times and I found out that because my wife is Ukrainian (she lives in Israel), they thought the marriage was in Ukraine because they said that it was supposed to have certain letters. When I googled the letters he gave me, I found out it was for a Ukrainian marriage certificate. So it appears they were looking for a Ukrainian Marriage certificate. However, we got married in Prague, and I sent them the marriage certificate and the translation in the original packet. Because of their assumption that we got married in Ukraine, they denied the marriage certificate.

Also, on the checklist it sates the following:

10 - ISRAEL CRIMINAL REGISTER CERTIFICATE:___________________

My wife requested this weeks ago from the Israel Police and it gets sent directly to the US Embassy. (They told me this is not an issue)

When I was speaking with the NVC, they notified me that they don't see the Ukrainian Police Certificate (Which I definitely sent). However, it doesn't mention that it was missing on the checklist!

I spoke with 4 people. Three of them said I should resend the Ukrainian Police Certificate, and one of them send that because it's not mentioned on the checklist, you don't need to worry about it.

Does anyone have an idea how long a supervisors review can take? Does anyone have any suggestions, what I should do?

Thank you.
