International Money Orders

We've tried everywhere it seems to find somewhere who will do an international money order to the UK and everyone says the same thing: "we don't to them to the UK". The post office, the bank, western union, even a freaking gas station that does money orders. No one!!!!! It's driving us crazy as Neil wants to send only a small amount of money to his mother and so it wouldn't be worth it to pay the $30 or $50 international wire transfer fee at either or my banks. We're not really keen on sending cash. Has anyone found a place you can get one to the UK? PLEASE HELP!

I also had a difficult time trying to get a money order to send to the Uk. Most banks told me I had to have an account with them. I got one from Americu, my husband got it actually as he was the account holder. It was done by monyeygram, go to moneygram.com for more information. Other people may know of other places to get them, but that is where I got mine. Good luck!

I tried moneygram and they told me that they don't do international money orders. I'm frustrated. Anyone else have any ideas?

ATM card. Open a new checking account and mail the ATM card. Deposit what you need to send.

or send cash (not recommended)

He would never even dream of sending his mother an ATM card. She's an alcoholic and if you give her too much money at once that is more than the money she gets from the government she goes loopy and drinks more than the 2ltr bottle of wine she already drinks a day. It's kind of a problem for us because we've tried to get her help for 2yrs but she doesn't think there is anything at all wrong with her. Neil is so frustrated with it he's almost to the point of giving up. I guess we'll mail cash and only send like $10 at a time. I think if we sent anymore she'd think she won the lottery and buy gallons of cheap cider.
