UK student loan, applying for US mortgage as co-signer

Hello!

My husband and I are about to close on our first home. They pulled our credits etc, all of our debts came up which was basically our credit cards and one car payment plan.

Anyone who is from the UK will know that student loans are a entirely different kind of loan, you don't need to pay it off until you reach a certain amount which I don't, so i don't even need to make any payments. Even in the UK it wouldn't affect a mortgage as they look at your payments n bank statements, so if you were paying it that is the only way it would affect it.

I never even got asked if i had amy other debts as they just assumed everything that showed up was the debts.

Is this something i need to inform them? My husband is the main signer and i am the co-signer.

Thanks!

As it's something that is in the UK and credit doesn't transfer, you don't need to make them aware of this. It's the weirdest kind of debt as well because you only pay it off when you reach that minimum threshold.
