Mar 1 was the interview. approval was given as the result and passport was submitted.

Mar 6 received email about 221g. the body of which is below.

some points worth mentioning.

0. guangzhou embassy.

1. entered usa on b-2 on feb 9, transiting to mexico. stayed in mexico for about 10 days before returning to china.

2. i-129f expired on mar 3. mentioned it during the interview on Mar 1, embassy officer said they would extend it.

3. the interview on mar 1 was very quick and simple. just a few basic questions. how did you meet, how long have you known each other, etc.

3a. they only collected the i-134 and some additional pictures of us together. they asked for nothing else.

4. when checking the case status at the NVC. it has always been in AP status with the "Status Updated Date:" refreshing almost every single day, sometimes after a few days, but very rarely longer than after a few days.

In the 221g notice, they gave a new appointment of Mar 16 with no other information. no materials required. there is just a statement about fingerprinting.

===>> So is the reason for this 221g just for fingerprinting or is there something else I should be aware of? Is there anything additional I should prepare for? <<===

My plan of action is below.

0. gather as much information regarding 221g/AP as possible.

1. see what happens on the interview on mar 16

2. wait 2 weeks, if visa is not issued. contact embassy.

3. wait 1 month after response from embassy. if visa is not issued. contact congressman/senator for inquiry.

4. wait 1 month after congressional inquiry. if visa is not issued. file freedom of information requests with state department and uscis.
