Hi! The police clearance certificate from the passport office is valid for one year and it comes under miscellaneous services. You need to fill a form in duplicate and pay a fee of rs 300. it get sdone the same day. Atleast this is what is given on the pasport website and i have been told by the passport office in delhi. I will be going for mine probably next week.

hi mala

for passport office pol.cert. u dont even need to go urself.

just give it to any travel agent hu does all this passport work.he will bring it back in a day. they charge like 100-200 more than the official fee..tats it.

tats all i did. nd its valid for 6 months. i got it in end of january and its still valid in june...

so u can hv it..

for local police report, u need to go to ssp office personally, file a application there..they send this report to your nearest local police station. this police station will contact you..get this enquiry earliest possible.its possible only with money.then again they send it back to ssp office. where u get d police report..

follow properly..then it does nt take time.

Hi Mala,

You need the ploice clearance from both passport office and your district police station. In Mumbai, the passport police clearance only takes a couple of days, the police clearance from the station takes a month.

Good luck,
