Hello all:

I am a U.S. Citizen and had our CR1 interview on 1/19/16 and was told our file has yet to be sent by NVC. After waiting a few hours I spoke to a supervisor and was granted an interview and eventually a visa for my wife. Our problem is the pending NVC file which was requested as an expedite which we were told should be received in a couple of days for my wife to return to have her fingerprints scanned and validated. Once I saw on the CEAC website that the file was received and a ready status, I created an appointment for my wife to finish the process. She was turned away at security claiming she needed some sort of bar coded document which is sent by the Consulate for her to return upon their request. It has been 2 weeks since the ready status and don't know how much longer the wait is going to be or if our case is just collecting dust in someone's desk. I wrote to the consulate via the website to inquire prior to creating the interview and received no response. My wife has called them constantly and they don't answer the phones either.

Not sure how much longer this process is going to take or if someone out there faced a similar situation?

I have run out of ideas and don't know what to do next other than wait out this frustrating process.

I would appreciate any suggestions

Have you contacted NVC to see if they ever shipped it? I think I've read on here that they send it via DHL and you can track it (or they can) with a tracking number. So you scheduled your VAC and interview apt when you saw that the status on ceac changed to ready, but they claim they never physically received the file at the embassy?

I recommend you get in contact with your state's congressman or senator ASAP, since you haven't been successful in getting a hold of anyone. They have internal gov methods of communication and have access to information that we do not. My state congressman's office has been VERY helpful.

Email was sent by embassy late yesterday to my wife to complete her digital fingerprints this morning. They most likely responded to my latest Email request without informing me. In any event, the visa is now being processed.

Just wanted to share in the event someone else winds up in a similar situation
