Did you ever find out the answer? My fiance lives in San Pedro. I'd love to avoid sending her to Tegus more than necessary.

I'm pretty sure you have to go to Tegus. That is what we are planning in the summer. Luckily I'll be there for that 8hr busride unless we get approved soon.

They have different forms of police records. We just asked for all to send to NVC, then I saw the embassy wants the DPI one. I received an email for having the wrong birth certificate. I sent the blue one and they want the long form aka Forma Literal. This is all we are missing :(. Family never heard of it so we will see how difficult it can be. Any suggestions will be appreciated Thx. and good luck to all.

DPI one?

For the birth certificate you sent the blue one? Mine says Certification De Acto De Birth Certification or something like that. Looks just like the US version. Same for marriage certificate. I was told this is what you get here and I said forma literal a lot. Family has done a few visas already so they are confident in this one.

When you say "the family went yesterday," does that mean somebody else can pick it up for you? Similarly, can somebody else request the certificate, or do you have to go in person?

Hello, My In-law asked for the Certificacion del Expediente de Vida at the RNP and it took 3 days to recieve. My lawyer said it was the form with the grandparents name, but it does not included it because years ago it was not necessary to include grandparents name at time of registration. I'm not sure if anyone could pick up being it was the mother who did. I have not received it yet. I was sent a phone pic only. Once I receive I will sent to NVC and hopefully get an appointment soon. I hope its what they want because in order to have grandparents name we will need a lawyer.

Hello Mitch612, yes you can send someone else to get the Literal Birth certificate which is also called: Certificacion del expediente de vida. I took the two forms of birth certificate to my interview.

Police Certificate you have to do it yourself, go to Tegucigalpa you pay the fees fill the form they require you to take it to another window and they'll tell you to come back to pick it up within 5 to 7 days.

Thanks so much for the info! I'm sending my fiance from san pedro to do this next week.

Birth Certificate - was this easy for you to request? do you know if there's a fee for requesting this (i.e. mail fee)?

Police Certificate - I had heard we could do this in the same day..does it really take 5-7 days? if that is the case, do you know if they'll mail it?
