NVC vs Embassy fee

Hi VisaJourney community,

What should I do with the following situation?

I payed the AOS and IV fee for a CR1 visa. I see the AOS as paid and the IV as in process in the CEAC system. Both of them are deducted from my bank account. Upon calling the NVC they informed me that they see both payments as pending.

Now the problem is that they are telling me that I need to pay both fees at the interview (the case is expedited). So I would be almost $500 short if I pay again at the interview, but also don't want to delay my visa but not paying. But then I want to get my money back from the NVC.

Anybody had a similar story? Will the payment go through eventually? Is it possible to get my money back or I should just not pay at the interview?

Once they show as PAID in CEAC (should be within a day or two), print out the payment confirmations showing they are in fact paid and bring that to the interview.
