NVC website instructions for K1 visa

I have a question, went to NVC website after calling in and finding out my case#. Put in case# and wondering why it only worked for an immigration visa and not non-immigration visa and the instructions on the NVC website call for a lot of stuff (6 steps including getting a agent). Have the instructions changed recently or are they for another kind of visa and not a K1 visa or could they of entered our information wrong? I'm thinking another kind of visa because i have not read nor heard anything about this for a K1 visa but just want to be sure on this. Thank you in advance for any light you can shed on this.

Our Timeline AOS Timeline

10/24/13 - Met online 04/30/16 - Sent AOS Forms I-864, I-485, I-765, I-131, G-325a, G-1145 with check

01/16/14 - Fell in love online 05/07/16 - Received text & email with case#

05/03/14 - Met for first time - He went to England 05/09/16 - Check cashed for $1,070.00

08/07/14 - She came to USA 1st time 05/13/16 - Received NOA1 for I-485, I-131, I-765

12/28/14 - She came to USA 2nd time 06/03/16 - Biometrics Appointment

02/10/15 - Officially engaged at the Grand Canyon 08/01/16 - Email & Text saying I-131 & I-765 Approved

04/27/15 - She came to USA 3rd time 08/06/16 - Received letters of approval for I-131 & !765

07/14/15 - She came to USA 4th time 08/12/16 - Received Combo card in US mail!

10/14/16 - Received RFE for proof of marriage

K1 VISA Timeline 10/15/16 - Sent in RFE paperwork

09/23/15 - Sent info to Rapid Visa 10/19/16 - Received text - AOS APPROVED!!!!

10/13/15 - Conformation from USCIS - NOA1 10/22/16 - Received hard copy of I-485 approval

11/06/15 - I-129F Approved! via USCIS Website! 10/22/16 - Received text - Your 2 year Greed card has mailed

11/13/15 - Received hard copy in mail - NOA2 10/25/16 - Received Green Card in the mail! - Yahoooo!

11/23/15 - Received by NVC (called on 24th)

11/24/15 - Called NVC and got LND#

11/30/15 - Case status at NVC: READY!

01/12/16 - Medical completed!

01/23/16 - Packet 4 received

01/27/16 - Interview - APPROVED!

02/05/16 - Visa In Hand

02/11/16 - POE - Ohio

04/02/16 - Wedding - Yahooo!

London processes the K1 visa at the Immigrant Visa Unit, so when given a choice for checking status, paying for the visa, contacting the embassy, or getting in line outside....pick Immigrant. Your K1 has a path to a greencard (through marriage) where the rest of the non-immigrant visas like student, tourist, nanny, rockstar, etc don't. So it is more aligned for interviewing and such with the immigrants.

Immigrant visas do a lot of processing and document checking at NVC before going to London. That would be all the married folks CR1/IR1. The K1s just pass through stopping long enough to get a new Dept of State case number then on to London. Application is online, submitted to London, not NVC. Documents are checked at the interview.

05-16-12 Oath ceremony

The journey from Fiancé to US citizenship:

4 years, 2 months, 6 days

243 pages of forms/documents submitted

No RFEs

We read the fine print in the status window and it said: Follow the instructions that will be mailed to you or go to this link. The link takes you a standard immigration visa instruction page and not a K1 visa instruction page.

So the website will only give you the current status or whereabouts of your K1 visa which is displayed in the blue box. The K1 visa as you said only stops at the NVC to get a case# and then is forwarded to the London embassy in my case.

No paperwork needs to go to the NVC for a K1 visa only the London embassy after they contact you.

Hope I got it correct, just wanted to put it in my own words to get it in my head.

Its a crazy world out there and were all a part of it!

When London receives your file from NVC, they will mail an instruction letter to the beneficiary. (It's not going to happen the day the file hits the mailroom.) The letter will say your instructions are found on the embassy website here http://london.usembassy.gov/iv/fiance_instructions.html

A tip-- Everything you need to know is not on that one page. Follow all the links and look at (read) the topics listed in the left column. If you don't see topics in the left column, you're on a mobile device and it's going to be harder to navigate all the info.
