WELCOME NOTICE AND EAD RENEWALHi to ALL! I received my approval notice thru online from USCIS last August 2006 but the I havent received my green card or welcome notice in the mail yet and it is already March 2007. My question is, since my case (I485) has already been approved, do I still need to file a renewal EAD since it is expiring in 90 days even though i know that my adjustment of status has been approved. I dont know what to do, I really appreciate any comment. Thank you in advance.

I don't understand, what approval notice did you get for AOS? Usually when your Green Card is approved you get 3 different emails:

1. "Welcome Letter" sent.

2. Card production ordered

3. An approval notice has been sent

Did you get any/all of these for your I-485 application? If you have and haven't got your Green Card yet you should make an infopass appointment to find out what's going on.

From what I understand, i may be wrong, if your GC has been approved then you cannot renew your EAD as the GC is your new work authorisation.

If you have been approved so long ago and not received your GC then I would make an info pass appointment immediately.

This is what i got online.

Application Type: I485 , Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status

Current Status:

This case has been approved. On August 1, 2006, an approval notice was mailed. If 30 days have passed and you have not received this notice, you may wish to verify or update your address.

IM WONDERING IF I HAVE TO FILE RENEWAL EAD IF I ALREADY GOT THIS LETTER ONLINE FROM USCIS. MY WORKING PERMIT IS VALID UNTIL JUNE 2007. I WAS HOPING THAT I GET MY GC IN THE MAIL SO I WONT HAVE TO PAY THE RENEWAL ANYMORE OR I DONT NEED TO QUIT MY JOB.

You need to make an Infopass. If you got that "approval notice was mailed" means they mailed your Green Card I believe (it usually is the last email you get from USCIS before the GC arrives). It most likely got returned or lost in the mail. You need to figure this out ASAP. Infopass if you can, call the hotline if you like spending time on hold and talking to idiots (who can sometimes be helpful).

NOTE: by the way, I also received this letter online from USCIS

OK. Definitely sounds like your Greencard got lost in the mail.

Also you shouldn't post your case ID number here. Edit and remove it. EDIT: OK YOU DID! :D

This happened to me..... My Greencard got lost in the mail... You need to make an infopass appointment to check it was actually issued... if it was and it has not been returned to USCIS then you are going to have to file form I-90 and pay the fee for a new card and new biometrics.... when you go to your infopass appointment take copies of all your paperwork and ask for a I-551 stamp in your passport as it will take 4 - 6 months to get a new card....
