I'm so unbelievably frustrated

(FYI: All the info and links on the VJ website on the Russian Consulate page are old and don't work.)

I got the email we've been waiting for from the Russian Consulate. It tells me to go to some web page and pay for the visa application and schedule the interview, and the link they sent is worthless. I even tried to create a user profile, but I don't have a DS-160 confirmation number or whatever. Other than emailing them back, I have no idea how to schedule and pay. The link they sent is just a general information page and leads nowhere.

Anyone wanna throw me a bone here?

You may need to complete the DS-160 first

use the info you received from the NVC regarding cash and invoice number and once you complete this you will get a confirmation number for the DS160

You would have gotten that from the NVC with your case number you dont need it to fill out the DS 160 but you may need it later

Sorry, I don't see that anywhere. I have the case #.

I emailed the consulate to request a useful link and instructions. She's filling out the DS-160 now.

Other than that, I don't know what to do. I'm ready to pay the fees and schedule the appointment, but I have no idea how to do it.

what is the link they sent you some embassys use different links

For Abu Dhabi I had to have the DS 160 confirmation number to setup the profile and from there after that is done it will allow you access to the section to schedule the interview and pay the fee.

Ok I understand. They sent a bogus link, but I got a different one from VJ that allows me to do what you're talking about, set up a user account etc. I'll get the DS 160 number and go from there. Thank you for your help.

Call NVC and ask for invoice #. Or call consulate and ask them.
