Abandonment of Conditional Green Card

1 post in this topic

Recommended Posts

Hi. I have 2 years condiotional green card and soon has to apply for removal of condition.

However, I and my husband is planning to move to my country to spend more time with my parents since they are old and settle down there...

so we are discussed and considering giving up my green card before it expires.

I just wanna exchange information about this topic if anyone has similar experience ( abandon green card )or know about something related to this topic.

Questions are

so conditional green card and regular 10 years green card, both have the same procedure when you abandon?

(It is just submitting I-407 with green card at USCIS office or US embassy and consulate overseas)

and if I have to apply for a new green card in the future ( maybe not near future though), is there any problem when I apply one?

Also, after abandonment is accepted and I return to non-immigrant status, am i going to have any difficulties at customs when I come to US only for vacation?
