hi all, new to the site, I filed our K-1 last week and the future

wife says I did some things wrong, I tried to follow the guidelines here

but apparently may have made a couple mistakes has anyone had

their applications returned for any of the following reasons ?

1) I sent the application to the old post office box address

for the Vermont Center

2) I forgot to write I-129 on envelope

3) I sent it regular 1st class mail

4) I sent copies of our proof of meeting,

airline tix, passport stamps, receipts and the like

not the originals

5) and i signed my papers in blue ink (does that really matter ?)

Don't know...

Doubt it will cause a delay - they'll still open it, work out what it is, and deal with it as appropriate!
3) I sent it regular 1st class mail

That won't be a problem (so long as there was sufficient postage on the package to get it there, I suppose) - you just won't be able to track the package for peace of mind, to know when it's been received.

4) I sent copies of our proof of meeting,

airline tix, passport stamps, receipts and the like

not the originals

That's what we did (and we were approved).... photocopies of boarding passes etc, and printouts of flight itineraries (which are all really 'originals' - we only had e-tickets not 'actual' tickets) - and of course neither of us were going to send our 'original' passport stamps... that would involve sending our passports... no way!
5) and i signed my papers in blue ink (does that really matter ?)

At least with blue ink, they won't doubt that the signatures are original... I know people say to use black, and I suppose you could get an RFE for this, but... I personally would think it unlikely.

So, all in all, in my inexpert opinion... I don't think any of the above is anything to worry about! Good luck. :)

2005 - We met

2006 - Filed I-129F

2007 - K-1 issued, moved to US, completed AOS (a busy year, immigration-wise)

2009 - Conditions lifted

2010 - Will be naturalising. Buh-bye, USCIS! smile.png
