Really Tash? My MIL told me they are telling her its still very cold there...but since we are in AZ I'm sure they mean compared to her being here.

She leaves on Saturday and arrives on Sunday in Cairo...so they told her bring her winter coat/scarf.... :P I laughed and told her leave her cool new shib shib's with me since she will not be needing them! (flip flops) Hehe~

Can you believe that British Airways wants 140 dollars for each additional bag going to Cairo w/ her? WTH :( That's insanity....

Can't wait to try the bechamel recipe........sounds yummy.

It's so very good!!

Aym said that during the day it is nice and warm and in the 70's. Maybe check out the weather for her city on the net. You know 70's is warm to him after leaving here in the negative numbers. You know how some of the people are in Egypt...in the 60's they put on their wool sweaters and scarves. Here in Ohio, we are opening up our windows and putting shorts on our kids!!!

I just checked the 10 day forecast for Zagazig which is a city near my husband's home town. The lowest high is 71 and the highest high is 82 so to me thats good and warm!

Um, really? Can't means you don't have the ability to do something. People have the ability to be engaged even if they haven't met. I'm sure you could argue whether or not it was wise, but it is humanly possible to be engaged before meeting. We were engaged before we met, and here we are many years later, albiet with lots of bumps along the way but still together alhamdulilah.

You can't be engaged if you've never met.

Welcome.

Hi, I am pretty new to the site, but my fiance is an Egyptian. We are just starting our journey, been 'dating' 3 months, not yet to meet in person. Hopefully we will in August.

So, hello all!

I do believe engaged is a plan to get married and that is our plan, so yes we are engaged. but thanks for the warm welcome.

Hey no prob...but I stick to my comment. Really you know someone online for 3 months and you've never met in person and you're engaged? Ok if everyone thinks that's "normal" then cool. I love this forum. You can't speak your mind and be honest without ppl getting all bent out of shape. Only sunshine blown up arses is welcome. Oh and don't forget about passive aggressive behavior. That's more than welcome.

HisLittleMasriyah, can you usually find it where you live and just can't find any now?

I'm sure you could buy it online somewhere.

There was an Arabic grocery near where I lived in the States that sold it canned, dried and frozen.

If all else fails, I can have a friend mail you some. :D

I'd offer to send some from Egypt but I guess it would take some time to get there. lol

I hope the doctor will let you travel during the summer, but maybe it would be easier to wait til after the baby is born and then you can bring baby to Egypt to visit your family and everything. Plus, Egypt's summer hotness and pregnancy sounds like a bad combination.

To Astarte, amen sister!

Living with hubby in Egypt, at last.

I'm sorry, were we suppose to give a standing ovation for your attempt at dream crushing? Yes, people CAN get engaged without having met. Is it wise? That is debatable. If you come in here to crush dreams with a silly untrue one liner, what exactly do you expect?
