Visiting the US while waiting in Canada for Interview Date

My husband is a USC and we are currently waiting to hear back from the NVC about our interview date. Our I-130 was approved, and we've submitted the visa application form. Hoping to hear about our interview date in the next 60 days. We are currently living in Canada, he's here as a visitor and I am a citizen. What we are wondering is if it's possible for us to visit his family in the US while we are waiting on our interview date and our case is being reviewed. We don't want them to think I'm intending to stay in the US after all we've gone through to do this paperwork and waiting this long! We would just be going for about 2 weeks. We'd also be going with our 6 month old son who was born here in Canada but already has his US passport and citizenship as well. All of our possessions are here in Canada, I have a job here and my family is here in Canada as well so we have ties back here. Just wondering if anyone has had luck making short visits to the US while waiting for an interview? Is it risky or a pretty straight forward and common occurrence? Thanks!

I've made multiple trips down. I've heard it is best to take paperwork with your showing your expected return date and showing ties to Canada (just in case they ask) but I never had a problem at either land or air crossings.

I too traveled back and forth the entire time. The best thing you can do is bring paperwork with you that show you have ties to Canada and that you are not trying to immigrate at that time. Lease. Letter from your boss. Bank statements even. Are you flying? Then a return ticket is great. If you are driving, don't jam your car full of stuff making it look like you're moving! Those types of things. Just be honest and answer whatever questions they ask. Do be prepared though to either be sent to secondary processing for further discussion or possibly turned away. Though most of us don't have a problem.
