I'm not quite sure what it is. But maybe cross that bridge when you get there (i.e after NOA2/NVC stage). Have you obtained the police clearance yet? I would recommend getting that done. SA Police website says it takes like 2 weeks to get done, but at the station they said 8 weeks and if you file direct with Pretoria they say 4 weeks.

Oh well have to be. Such a mission. I can't send my kids to school since we're leaving and the new school year started this week. My work couldn't wait longer not knowing and already found someone to fill my space so it's hectic. In November I the place I was renting was sold by the owner so we had to get rid of our stuff and can't sign a new lease so everything's upside down! ?

Hi there! I'm terribly frustrated. The embassy here in south Africa insists the k1 visa fee is 350$ and not 265$. How can that be?

http://southafrica.usembassy.gov/fiancees_visas.html

Click on this link has lots of good information.

It's $350

After the beneficiary informs the Consulate that all the documents are ready, a visa interview will be scheduled. There is a USD $350 visa application fee for the fiancé(e) visa itself, but there are additional fees charged for the mandatory medical examination and for some of the required documents.

How long does it take to get a reply, and how long a wait for an interview? Do you know? Congrats btw! So exciting now!

Hey…can you tell me how long it took for them to receive your case from the NVC? and to arrange for your medical etc?

I'm hoping things move fast once the files hits SA.

Thanks!
