You seem to have forgotten to tell me why it is profiling has not been successful in stopping suicide bombings btw I am sure it is just a small oversight on your part .

What does it matter? The results of succesful bombings tend to support my position that profiling is indeed lazy and ineffective. If profiling was effective there would have been none.

What happens to those who fail screening at 36,000 feet whilst the aircraft is crossing the border? Are they unceremoniously dispatched without a parachute? No Pan Am flight has been the target of a terrorist bombing since lockerbie. I suppose that means that the security measures including profiling put into place following 103 in 1988 prevented 9/11?

I never said we were not a tough bunch. I actually think Australia beats America in terms of assault and violent crimes.. This is why when Pedroh makes remarks that whites guys are scared I always say why don't Hispanics or African Americans come to Australia and act all tough, with their baggy pants of course..

Then again Australia has one of the highest standards of living in the world.. Melbourne and Sydney are constantly rated as the world's best cities to live in.. I mean even the US immigration officer asked why on earth I would want to migrate to the US and not take my wife to Australia..

The type of profiling you are talking about in the above post relates to an individual who is being sought in connection with a crime that has actually happened.

I highly doubt a cop is going to pull over a well groomed African-American. So turning it into a race issue is wrong.

Actually I think what gets mixed up in the US for racism is class discrimination, which happens all over the world. And yes that includes most African countries.. Poor African-Americans usually think they are discriminated against because they are black when in reality it has more to do with the class they are in. An affluent African American is highly unlikely to have the same complaint.. Nonetheless, News flash.. Poor white Americans are also discriminated against...

If I see white kids with baggy pants I will keep my guard up.. Nothing to do with race..
