I'm not sure what the Philippine Law requirement is, but here in the states, a certified copy of Divorce Decree (as an example) that is issued by the court is needed. Contact the local courthouse or the one that issued the orginal to request for one.

You should post this question in the K-1 section as it's a better fit there. :) (never mind that part - apparently it got moved as I was replying) :P

I'm divorced and I didn't need a certified/notarized copy of my divorce decree. My decree did have the court clerk's stamp on it though. I don't know if that's the same thing or not. I was told that for the interview everything should be originals. Mine are but they aren't certified/notarized so I might have to go down to the courthouse and have it done.

By the way, my wife told me you'll also need a recent (within 6 months) CENOMAR. That doesn't make sense to me as a CERNOMAR is a certificate of no marriage and we're married but lots of this process don't make sense to me.

I have nothing to add for the topic, but I saw all of the philippine fiancees/wives and wanted to say hello. Isn't it a fascinating country? I didn't get to tour that much, only manila and general santos. I wish I could go back before the interview date but, of course, my finances prohibits it. Anyway, good luck to all!!!!

To the OP: I just read your other thread about your fiancee having a fear of flying. You're putting the cart before the horse here. You need to meet in person to satisfy that requirement before you worry about your annulment paperwork. It's also a good idea to meet in person so you can get to know them a little better.

I visited Cebu in Nov '03 for a week and didn't see much. I visited Manila at the end of May '06 and again stayed for only a week. With the long flight back and forth a week just isn't enough time. When we got married I visited again in Nov of '06 and stayed for 20 days. We went to her hometown (Isabela province) in the north eastern part of the Philippines, then went to Palawan (Puerto Princesa), then Cebu City, and then back to Manila. We took city tours of Cebu City and Puerto Princessa, saw 100 Islands, the Underground River, and a bunch of other activities.

I want to go back as well but lack of $$$ and vacation time prevent it right now. I'm torn between going back at the end of May or holding off until the interview (whenever that is). I miss my wife and really want to see her ASAP but I'd also like to be there for the interview and help her with packing and the trip back. I'm still undecided on what I'm going to do.

The finality and the annotated marriage contract from NSO will show later in time of the interview..

I hope im not too late to give a reply..Anyway, i will also just be submitting the court decision as Divorce Decree, will just have the finality and the NSO later on for the interview at the US embassy..
