London specific - Medical to Interview wait time K1?

I was wondering, do London automatically schedule an appointment once they receive the results from the medical, or do they wait for you to complete the readiness form? Reason being is that I have to wait a while longer to receive a police certificate from Japan, so in an ideal world I would like to get everything else sorted while I wait. I see a lot of people that seem to do the medical and then wait for the interview date.

I'm fairly certain they won't schedule a date until they've received 1) a completed DS-160 2) your clear medical results from the examination and 3) you've filed the notification of readiness to interview form online.

FWIW, I received my police certificate and completed the DS-160 on the same day. I then set up the medical appointment and then filed the notification of readiness form online via the London US Embassy website. On that notification of readiness form, there's a box that asks for the medical date. As long as you have the appointment scheduled and have or are just about to receive your police report, you can go ahead and file that form. I'd advise doing this after you have your police report in your hand AND your medical date booked.

I had my medical on 12/11/14. I received my interview date letter this morning in the post. My interview is 10/12 - less than three weeks away.

Another tip as I'm sure you've heard is to try and put an earlier wedding date on the notification of readiness form. It doesn't necessarily have to be the date you're legally marrying your fiance but it don't put a date that's 2 or 3 months out if you're looking to move soon.

Thanks, that's good advice :)

No problem.

Pretty much everything I've been through in the process has followed the time guidelines and expectations. Once you get towards the back end of things, it'll seem easier once your interview date has been granted etc.

That was something I found as well. Once you book the medical it all seems to flow rather easily.
