1. Cold/Flu - For some reason most in Philippines think if it rains on them they will catch a cold, Be in a busy city around rushhour and let it rain just a little and everyone hides from the rain or tries to take a taxi, they have brainwashed themselves that they will get sick from rainwater.

2.) Wet Lung - Get hot and sweaty, then get in a air conditioned vehicle or air con room and this can cause Wet Lung

3.) Air in Stomach - Sleeping naked or with you stomach uncovered at night and letting the fan blow directly on your stomach, This causes the Air in Stomach

What I dislike though, is when they ARE actually ill, they prefer to go to the "hilot" or faith healers, which most often than not, just makes everything worse. All because it is cheaper. I'm sorry if this upsets anyone who believes in it, but its just bleh.

I have been to a Hilot also, waste of time and money, I was not aware at the time they were just a witch doctor. I had rolled my ankle and acutally cracked a bone in my foot later was discovered when I got Xrays in USA. But I went to like 2 hilots for my ankle and they rubbed it and massaged and told me not to swim for like 24 hours, and the other one told me not to have alcholol for 24 hours also.

Asthma - I have known many people who go to Hilot / Massage for Asthma to get healed.

It was even reported in the news recently and I asked my fiancée about it.

There is a creature that lives inside some trees that comes out at night and creates mischief including impregnating young girls. The proof of its existence is that the girl is a "good girl who would not lie".

You will find a lot of people there believe in this stuff. Like I said, the ABS-CBN news ran a story recently (had to have been in the last year) and reported it seriously.
