Hey guys, I filed the i130 for my husband a month the back and recently got approved. Currently, I am waiting to receive an nvc case number. In the mean time, my spouse and I are completing the ds230 and the affidavit of support. I had a few questions in regards to the ds230.

1. What is the difference between passport clearance and police clearance? Does my spouse in India need both? He lives in bangalore (more than 6 months), but is originally from kerala. Does he need to obtain certificates from both places? From what I gathered, the clearance is obtained from the passport office, no the police department. Can someone clarify this?

2. My husband will fill and sign the ds230 and I will be mailing it. Do I have to mail the ds230 and the affidavit of support separately??

3. How long does it typically take to get an interview date after mailing the above forms?

Thank in advance for your help guys.
