mistake on I129-f

Hi Vj Family.

My fiance entered wrong Date of birth on the I-129f . However when he called the NVC to enquire about the status of our petition, my fiance answered my correct DOB and the agent acknowledged it as right .



So now I am super tensed about the potential problems this can cause . Is there any way we can get this fixed? :cry::crying:

I guess they were able to refer to the other documents submitted on your behalf like Birth Certificate, copy of passport etc that verified what he was telling them? It must happen from time to time.

Mar 2011 - After 5mths denied for lost docs - Attempts to follow up failed. Mar 18 2012 - I-129F sent - No sign of NOA1 but they have banked the check...Jul 24 - Update - USCIS has located our file
Infopass Apt - they sorted through everything - our 2011 and 2012 file keep getting mixed up - getting us a Case# (still waiting) Dec- Infopass Appt- expecting to get a case # in about a week ..Still no Case number
Mar 2013 Infopass - advised file was in a box somewhere,and it would be quicker for us to refile. Life gets in the way... New petition submitted July 2014 .

I-129F NOA1 : Aug 06 2014
I-129F NOA2 : Feb 25 2015 (NOA2 copy rcd: Mar 02)

I haven't seen this exact thing before on VJ.. but since it was clarified by phone they may have just corrected it. Also if it has got as far as NVC and left (per your timeline).. I would think it has already been recorded as the correct date on your file. I wouldn't be worried.. you would have had an RFE before it went to NVC if they saw a problem with it. I'm sure it must happen from time to time that there is a slight error on the I-129F.. such as a small spelling mistake etc, but so long as official documents like birth certificate etc. are all there to verify it, they probably just accept those spellings/dates etc. I wouldn't worry... just my opinion.

Since your fiancé called NVC, you have already received approval of your I-129F? If so, then this minor error was already corrected when they adjudicated your petition. This would also explain why the NVC acknowledged the correct DOB, since they have the corrected file.

I have a bit similar problem.. When filling the form in field - town of birth- I wrote town were i actually was born, and though it's the offical one.. As I didn't used my birth certificate since i got my passport like 10 years ago, and I had no idea, that in birth certificate place of birth is a village were i spent first years of my life.. Will it be a big problem in embassy, when i will have to show my birth certificate?
