Yesterday I just got my pre interview letter from The US Embassy. I just wanted to know how long it takes for you ladies to recieve your packet 4 since the time you recieved your pre interview letter.I understand that we have all different lenght of time, at least an idea will help :) And one more inguiry, I have with me my NBI clearance already and I got the notations stated "NO RECORDS ON FILE" I'm totally confuse if I need to obtain an official letter of explaination from the NBI, it said only on thier requirements that you only need to provide them the official letter of explaination if you have any of this notation in your clearance "NO CRIMINAL RECORDS", NO CRIMINAL CONVICTION", " NO PENDING CASE", or DEROGATORY RECORDS.

I hope to get some help here.

I am not sure what the packet four thingy really is. Claudeth received one package from the embassy with some forms to fill out including the form for payment for the interview and the interview letter itself. Just before she went to Manila for her interview she applied for a second clearance and specifically told them it was for a fiancee visa to America. I think that might have been important.

Good luck!

Hello Eviee,

I havent received pre-interview letter too. I just got packet 4 with all forms to fill up, instruction and appointment letter. Our case was received by embassy from NVC October 23, then I got an interview schedule Dec 20 for February interview. They said that it will take 1-6 months from the day they received your case to process and give you interview schedule.

About NBI, that is ok. I have a friend who have that also that same notations and got approved.

Good luck!

Maybe it was your first time to get an NBI clearance that's why it said No Records on File. If you want, you can get a new one or renew it, but bring what you have right now and explained to them why you're renewing it. You will notice that it will then say No Criminal Records. Try this, it might work...

Good luck!

vhi

Hi Vhi,

Thanks for the info :) It's weird seems that only me got this pre-interview letter, but on the other side I'm thankful also because it is a sign that they are working on our papers. In the letter they give me an information when they recieved our case and when to expect our interview date, also attached are the list of requirements I need to prepare for the interview time :)

With my NBI, I guess I have nothing to worry about it. :)

Goodluck for your interview and hope to hear how it goes.

Eviee, It differs depending on your locatin in the PI. We received the letter about 3 weeks after the Embassy received our NOA2 and then got our Packet 4 on 26 Dec, here is the time line from our signature:

11 Oct 06 - Case MNL783xxx received by Manila Embassy.

31 Oct 06 - Fiancee received letter from Manila Embassy confirming receipt of case from NVC

26 Dec 06 - Received Packet 4

You NBI statement if one of the statement not requiring a letter of explaination, just make sure it is not more than a year old. Go to the Foreign Embassy section and join us in the Manila Embassy Interview thread. Ken & Maria

Since your case was already in Manila USE you can go now to THE FOREIGN EMBASSY AND CONSULATE GENERAL DISCUSSION. Just look for Manila Interview Forum and read the everyday discussions there. You will find most of the topics there helpful. Don't hesitate to ask questions coz everybody is very friendly there.
