Hi there! When was your POE? You can either show your I-94 (if still valid + passport) or your I-797c or NOA for I-485, in case asked for proof of lawful authorized stay in US.

My I94 already expired..my poe was dec 1st last year..i have my noa1 with me is that enough for proved..im still worried

Don't be. Your NOA for your AOS + your passport should be enough. The NOA shows that you have a pending AOS application.

You said "the border" then said "New Mexico." New Mexico is in the US. You would not be crossing the border from the US into Mexico if you're traveling from Arizona to Colorado - you would be going through New Mexico which is still in the US!! If you're crossing into Mexico, as others have said, have your passport and NOA. If you don't have a driver's license...don't drive. Otherwise, should not be a problem.

There are checkpoints along the border areas through California to Texas, if they stop you, you'll need to show proof that you're here legally. Just bring your EAD/AP card and that should be fine, but don't drive if you don't have a license.

Don't worry. Don't drive. Take your passport with you along with marriage certificate and 485 NOA1 if you want to alleviate your stress.
