Anyone flown via Boston before?

Hello

Trying to figure out my flights - i normally fly into Washington Dulles and then onto Johnstown where my fiancee lives however the prices of this flight seem a little ridiculous at the moment

I've found a flight into Boston and then onto Pittsburgh which my fiancee is roughly 1 hours drive from, my only concern is that the lay over is only 1 hour and 20 minutes

I will be flying from Dublin so i can do my POE before flying but i'm still unsure if an hour and 20 minutes is too short of a lay over and if i will have to re-check my baggage at a check-in desk in departures for my connecting flight as it'd be a different airline?

Can anyone share their experiences on this?

Ta!

yes you will have to re-check your baggage.........

I teach travel workshops....... I would not leave only 1 hr and 20 minutes, you'd be better with 2 hrs....

you will have to clear customs, immigration, etc...

what airline are you thinking of connecting with? are you prepared if there is a delay or issue to be stuck in Boston? what day of the week are you looking at flying into Boston?

I have flown into Pittsburgh hundreds of times, message me if I can give you more detailed info on the airport there car rental bag pick up etc...

cheers mate

I'd be clearing customs & immigration in Dublin prior to getting on the plane so you avoid all of the customs & immigration on the other end.

I actually just found the route i'd normally take in Washington Dulles and onto Johnstown, PA for a good price with a 2 hour 30 minute lay over so I've gone for that

Thank you for your reply and information though :)

Actually one question i do have, if you are flying with 2 different airlines e.g. Aer Lingus from Dublin to Washington then United Airlines from Washington to Johnstown, PA - I know at Washington there is a conveyor belt just after going through customs & border that if you have a connecting flight you chuck your luggage back on and it makes its way to your next flight but i've always flown United for 2 flights so i don't know if it will be different for 2 different airlines..? Would i have to go up to Departures and check in for the next flight?
