Hello all,

I want to know if it's ok to start asking the beneficiary for his Police certificate, 2 photos 2x2, Birth certificate etc before getting the approval, just to not waste time when we get to the NVC.

Is the police certificate good for a year(for Dom Rep)?

I will appreciate your feedback!

The police certificate is only good for 30 days so you have to wait until right before your interview to get it. The other items you can get now. Just don't let your fiancee to anything drastic to change hair/face etc. I think they do recommend the photos be less than 6 months old.

Thank you so much for the quick reply. So they ask to bring a police certificate to the interview too? NVC ask for a police certificate, a birth certificate, marriage certificate and 2 passport photos 2x2 and a copy of his passport bio-data page, all that is receive by the National Visa Center (NVC) and then is forward to consulate/ Embassy.

You will another another Police Certificate just because in DR is only valid for 30 days. That is why you need to have another. For the interview I would recommend to have another copy of the BC and MC. Just in case they misplaced. That way you are ahead of the game. Remember you have to go prepared. Bring all the copies of the packets you sent to USCIS as well to NVC and the original BC and MC and the passport photo that is no more thank 6 months old.

I hope this helps
