Hi, my wife's visa is about to the expire on June 30th. After her expiration date, she has 30 more days to leave the country legally. We are in the process of fill and filing the AOS form and the few other forms required for her to get her green card. Will she have to leave the country as we wait for a response from the USCIS? Is there a time frame that the USCIS usually sends back a reply? Thank you.

Also, on document G-325A for US national citizen, Top line, furtherest box to the right, "File Name". Should I fill out my alien number found on my US certificate of Nationalization? I used to have an alien number before I became a US citizen.

1. It is "File Number", not "File Name" Yes you need to input your Alien Number A#, which you used before. You are not US Citizen by birth so you do have A#.

2. Her overstaying is waived when she gets married to USC aka you so you don't have to worry that she will be overstaying, she is authorized to stay when you two are waiting for AOS interview and outcome. As soon as you file I-130 & I-485 concurrently, you will received few notice of action (aka Receipt I-797s, NOA...) within couple weeks, most members receive them within 2 weeks. If every papers are in order, you should expect work permit, advanced parole within 2 - 3 months and interview appointment right after that. Good luck with your process.
