Hi Everyone;

I posted last week that I had been called in to my local office (Milwaukee) after filing our I-130 petition in September, 2013.

The local office interview happened last Thursday May 15.

I arrived with a good packet of documentation just in case it was needed, and the very nice young Officer did ask for my passport in order to verify the many trips I've made to Colombia to visit my Wife.

After the interview I came home, and four days later (this past Monday) I received an e-mail notification from USCIS that TWO of my three petitions had been approved, and that letters in hard copy would follow shortly ( I'm seeing that those letters take a number of days to show up in your mail sometimes). The third I-130 petition has not yet been approved as this particular stepchild may be overage for a family-based petition.

Anyway, I was led to understand that it is fairly unusual to be called in to your local office prior to receiving an RFE, and it initially made me nervous, but the experience was nice, and I got the approvals I was hoping for very quickly, but my question is, now what to do?

Should I wait for the letters in the mail and act upon whatever they request, and has anybody else had the experience of being called in to their local office prior to or in lieu of a Request For Evidence which is what I assume this visit was replacing?

The departure from the stated routine that the IR-1 flowchart outlines by my having to go on my Milwaukee visit kind of threw a wrench in my understanding of what comes next even though I got the e-mail approvals in four days!!

What do you guys think?

Tx!
