Hi everyone!

We filed Nov - 2013.

Quick question about our my background check (beneficiary)

In my country (Ireland) It take 6 months to get a background check / police certificate, I inquired about it at my local police station and they said in order to get one I need a form from USCIS stating they need the it.

Do I need a certain form or does USCIS go about it themselves?

That's an awful long time for a country as small as Ireland! I had mine in 2 weeks from uk!

Speaking from experience, I didn't have to get any form from USCIS. I wrote submitted a letter to my local gardai station requesting the certificate and stated its for US immigration purpose(they will expressly state this on the issued certificate too). Having said that, I went through this over 3 years ago, I am not sure whether things have changed. I seriously doubt that the requirements have, because this page doesn't have any thing about getting a form from USCIS: http://www.garda.ie/Controller.aspx?Page=2742&Lang=1

Be sure to follow the instructions on the site: Listing all addresses, include photocopy of ID etc. I did get the cert less than a month later. The site actually states it takes 3 weeks to process.

Filing based on 3yrs/USC Spouse. 3 year residency anniversary is in August 2014. Filed immediately after the 90-day early filing mark (May 2014)

05/12/2014 - NOA Date

06/11/2014 - Biometrics Appointment

09/15/2014 - Inline for interview scheduling (was stuck in "Initial Review" for over 3 months!)

10/27/2014 - Scheduled for interview

12/01/2014 - Interview

12/19/2014 - I AM A US CITIZEN!
