How long does it take for field office to send out notice?

Hi all,

I have a couple quick questions:

1/ The national service center said they'd send out my case files to the field office this week. How long does it take for the office to send out interview date?? The office is in Atlanta.

2/ It's only months away til my card expires. What will happen from the time between the interview date, and the date which my card expires?

Thank you in advance for any inputs.. :)
