Just to share what I now know...

So I've been confused for the past days wondering what kind of authentication I'll need to do for my W-7 application so my husband can sign as MSJ. I was advised to have my passport certified or red ribboned at the DFA and I was planning to do that but I also have a tourist visa that I mentioned on the application form so I didn't know if I had to have my visa copied and certified too.

So I called USEM to ask.

I spoke with a lady from notarial services and she said that they now do the side-by-side compare and sign (or something like that) for Philippine passports for W7 purposes. She said that they used to not do this but then IRS told them that they should so now they do. All we'll need to do is to bring our passport and $51 (don't know where that $1 came from) and they'll do their thing and IRS will accept the copy. They said they don't do it for visas, just passports.

Just make an appointment (mine is on Thursday) and don't be late!

So I guess that answers my questions and hopefully will help other Filipino spouses too.

Not yet, it only arrived on Saturday. Pretty sure they're busy right now. :)
