The guy who says "homosexuality is a Western phenomenon" has clearly never been to the temples of Khajuraho. There are carvings of men fellating other men and women fingering each other on those temple walls...

NEW DELHI — India's Supreme Court on Wednesday overturned a lower court's ruling that decriminalized gay sex.

...

In 2009 the Delhi High Court ruled that a 19th-century provision in the country's penal code that prohibited people from engaging in "carnal acts against the order of nature" should not apply to consenting adults, including same-sex couples.

The Supreme Court rejected that decision Wednesday, saying the old law was still constitutionally valid and could only be changed or erased through Parliament, not the courts.

Mohammad Abdul Rahim Quraishi, a spokesman for the All India Muslim Personal Law Board, one of the groups that appealed the 2009 decision, welcomed Wednesday's ruling.

"There is no space for homosexuality in our social setup," he said. "It is a sin, it is a heinous crime."

K. Radhakrishnan, a lawyer representing Trust God Ministries, another petitioner challenging decriminalization, added that homosexuality is a Western phenomenon. "It has polluted the minds of young Indians," he said.
