To get P.C.C. ---compulsory to add husband's name in passport?

I have a bit of complex situation with my passport and the question is related with the passport issuance Seva Kendra.

My passport is with my family's surname ,my husband's name is not added in my passport and my petition for Cr1 has been filed with my family's surname not with my husband's surname .

I have to get Passport police clearance from Delhi ,for this i have heard that adding the husband's name in passport is compulsory for females then a person can get P.C.C.?

But my question is ----- I will send my passport for adding of my husband's name in it and ii will get new passport /new booklet with different no. will it create any problem? At this extent can i send my passport for endorsement of husband's name in it I j can add my husband's name but can't change the surname because the CR1 petition has submitted with my family's surname

Any one please who had gone through the process give us your steps .

Are you sure that to get a PCC you need to have your husbands name on the passport ? Where have you 'heard' this ? Does the offical passport india site state this ?

I dont think its required. Goto your local passport office and enquire.

Having mismatched names can/will create problems later.

I have called passport call center no. and asked about it and this information i got it from their if a person is going to apply for Passport police clearance and if he/she will fill in form that he /she is married then first they have to add spouse name in the passport.

I am not sure of that case.

Please check http://passportindia.gov.in/AppOnlineProject/welcomeLink and submit the application.

It will ask for the required details, also will list the needed documentations.
