I have trouble finding sympathy for the IT people who are now out of work or struggling to find work.

There aren't any *good* IT people who are out of work or struggling to find work.

Amen to that, Mark...

Let's hope that holds true when you get here. :)

Assuming he's good ;)

(which often means "experienced".)

... unless they happen to be a woman in an area that is super-saturated, and where men with less experience get the job that she applied for, and she spends a year and a half looking for work in IT, only to have to finally take a job making minimum wage working with small children (in order to feed her own small children) becuase the imaginary glass ceiling isn't really so imaginary....

Not that I'm bitter or anything. I'm back in the IT field, making decent money and passing my knowledge on to others in the industry. I just don't believe the bullsh1t there that good IT people never have trouble finding a job.

Probably just a salary issue. With x years of experience, employers assume you won't be happy with less than y-thousand per year. Which is why the IT pickings are best where there is a wide range of employers.

Man is made by his belief. As he believes, so he is.

So the US is suffering a shortage in IT experts and engineers.. I did not realize the solution was to bring in others rather than educate Americans..

The solution is to bring in others who will eventually become Americans

H-1B is supposed to be a path to a green card, that's why it has dual intent status.
