What is says on the tin really, I know what forms and procedures are involved once I get there, roughly! (employment authorisation, adj of status etc...)

But how long does this normally all take? How long approximately from landing and getting married, until I can let start work?

Ps. I know it probably differs person to person. I'm just looking for a ball park :)

Probably about 3 months from getting your NOA1 for your AOS.

Ensure that you are able to get a marriage certificate ASAP after the wedding (we took the paperwork directly to the clerks office rather than leaving if for the minister to mail it, so had the certificate within an hour of marrying).

You can apply for jobs before getting your EAD. Some online applications will ask you if you have the right to work in the US, so you won't be able to apply for those. If you receive a job offer and do not yet have your EAD, you can request that your EAD is expedited based on the job offer.
