Bono 'alarmed' at Democrat unwillingness to commit to funding for AIDS in Africa

"I'm alarmed we could not get a commitment from the Democratic leadership to prevent the loss of $1 billion in the continuing resolution," Bono said Thursday in a statement.

I think that's understandable given that they don't want to end up eating their words later on. They still need cooperation from the Republicans and they have a recent history of tacking onto bills things that made Democrats damned if they voted for it and damned if they voted against it.
