Hello, I'm a USC who has been married to a foreign national for about one month though we have been dating for over 2 years. I'm a grad student in the US. We have been trying to put all of our paperwork together in order to file either the IR-1/CR-1 or the K-3 (which any advice on either of the two would be greatly appreciated) and I had three quick questions.

1. The first is regarding the Police Certificate. Is this form required for all IR-1/CR-1 applicants or only for those who have a criminal history? Is it required if the foreign national has never left their home country?

2. Regarding the Bona Fides. We have no shared official documents apart from our marriage certificate (we share no bank accounts, have never signed on a lease together, etc.). I have read that apart from Affadavits of Support from friends and family it is adviseable to include as much supporting evidence, such as pictures and phone records and other items documenting our relationship, to strengthen our application. Does the supporting evidence need to be filed in a specific format, for example do I just include a bag of pictures and phone records and other events in our relationship or do they need to be more officaily ordered and structured?

3. She works for a US company and through her job has a US travel visa good for 10 years. Does this hold any weight in our application?

Thanks in advance for your replies and asssistance!

No more K3. Focus on IR1/CR1

For everyone (immigrant) and for places you've lived in for a period of time (not exactly sure if 6 months or a year).

2. Regarding the Bona Fides. We have no shared official documents apart from our marriage certificate (we share no bank accounts, have never signed on a lease together, etc.). Study the guides. There's a specific list of documents that is mentioned on the guides and the I-130 form. I can tell you that you're short on the documents for now.

3. She works for a US company and through her job has a US travel visa good for 10 years. Does this hold any weight in our application?

IMHO none. It's a different class of visas with different requirements.

Thanks in advance for your replies and asssistance!
