Hello

My Thai fiancee and I submitted the I-129 in mid October 2006--it was returned needing an "original signature"--I resent the document with the "original signature" and then received the NOA1 on November 8th. Now we're waiting on the NOA2 to arrive.

I keep checking our online cases status and it hasn't changed at all.

When I read other posts on here it seems like folks are getting "touched" often, and even receiving the NOA2 within a couple of weeks after the NOA1! Maybe I'm getting paranoid... It is a bit stressful wondering if the K-1 will pan out at all!

I'm newly returned to the US (after almost 6 years in Thailand), looking for work and hoping I can get a job soon so the Affadavit of Support I-134 will actually have someting written on it... Another source of woe right now.

Trying to keep my spirits up!! Good luck to everyone!

A world without borders sounds so wonderful right now!

Brian

Ok, from what you've filled in on your timeline, you've said you sent the I-129F in late September, not mid-October, and to California. If you have a look on the timelines on here, you'll see that although a lot of people who filed to CSC in September have been approved, there are still plenty waiting. If you did in fact file in mid-October, you'll see that nobody who filed to California that recently has had their NOA2 yet, so yours definitely won't be along for a while. The people who have had their NOA2s in a couple of weeks sent their petitions to the Vermont Service Center, which is much quicker at processing the I-129Fs than California (which also deals with petitions sent to Texas & Nebraska). Oh, and speaking of your timeline... can you fill in the date of your NOA1, as well as when you received and responded to the RFE - the request for the 'original signature'?.

Hope that helps a bit. Like I said, CSC has been approving many of the people who filed in late September recently, so it's pretty likely that you'll hear something soon... good luck! :)

Thanks. Yes, I was mistaken about the day I sent the application in. I've updated everything.

Ah, reading back, it sounds like the request for original signatures (did you send photocopied forms, or did they just mistake real signatures for copies, maybe?) has pushed you a bit further pack in the pile (so to speak), as they sent the NOA1 only once you'd returned the form with 'original signatures' - sorry, missed that bit before! Your NOA1 date is a few days (well, 6) after mine... again, if you look at the timelines you can see that people with early/mid October NOA1s are beginning to be approved. CSC has been churning out the approvals at quite an impressive rate the last couple of weeks, although I suppose it's likely things will slow down a bit over Christmas and New Year - but hopefully neither of us will have to wait too much longer for our NOA2s! I'm hoping for a mid-January approval (which might be a bit optimistic, but I can hope!)... good luck, I hope you get yours without too much of a wait!

I accidentally sent a photocopy of the signature! Kicked myself over that one...

I'm hoping for an NOA2 in mid-January now--but not holding my breath. Once I receive that then I'll have to dive back into Visa Journey to figure out what to do next: all those packets, scheduling an interview, etc...

Thanks,

brian

Oh, another thing I forgot to say - might be a good idea to research the contents of the packet your fiancee will receive from the consulate (and what documents etc she'll be expected to bring to her interview) ahead of time, so that nothing will come as a surprise, and to avoid any unnecessary delays when the time comes. For instance, getting hold of a police certificate might take a while - in the UK it takes about 40 days so I (I'm the non-USC fiancee) ordered mine a while ago so that it'll be ready when I need it. It's a good idea to know what's coming so you can be prepared for it and work out if there's any evidence/documents/whatever you need to get hold of!

:o Wow, I didn't realize it could take that long to get. I'll look into that soon to see how long it takes to get in France. Thanks!
