Hi, everyone

I am a U.S. citizen wanting to apply K-1 for my foreign fiance.

I have not yet applied for K-1 yet, but I had some questions in mind.

I read about K-1 related articles here and also at the USCIS website and noticed that I have to meet the

minimum poverty line to be able to sponsor my fiance, if not I will need a co-sponsor.

I just graduated from a University and started working two part-time jobs while applying for graduate school to attend next year.

I have not worked while I was in university because I was able to cover all my expenses from scholarships and grants.

My fiance owns a business in Korea and if he can get his K1 visa, he will sell his business and come to the U.S. to live with me.

He will be able to bring about $100,000+.

However I read that my fiance's income/property doesn't really matter and I would have to earn at least the poverty line.

Is this true? or Is there anyway that his money can be counted toward?

Is it still possible for me to file for him even if I don't have a stable full-time job?

I plan to quit work when I start graduate school next year... Am I still eligible to file for him? Would it be difficult for a student to get married?

Or would it be okay as long as I have a good co-sponsor?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!
