K1 visa during F1?

So here is my case in 2011-2012 I was a foreign exchange student on a J1 visa then I went back to Europe for a year and this summer I went back with an F-1 visa valid until june 30th, 2014 but I had a family emergency and had to go back to France. My fiance and I really want to get married we were plannig on adjusting my status which I don't thibk I can do now because I am back in France and not attending school there anymore. So my question is is it possible for my fiance and I to try to get a K-1 visa for us to be able get married if my F-1 visa is still valid?
